Quick Start Guide

Get up and running with Evalo in just a few minutes. This guide will walk you through creating your first assessment and running your first evaluation.

1. Create Your Account

Start by signing up for a free Evalo account. No credit card required for the free plan.

Use your work email address to make it easier to collaborate with your team later.

2. Create Your First Assessment

Assessments are templates that define what you're looking for in a candidate. Here's how to create one:

  1. Navigate to the "Assessments" section in your dashboard
  2. Click the "New Assessment" button
  3. Enter a name and description for your assessment
  4. Select the skills you want to evaluate (e.g., JavaScript, React, Node.js)
  5. Choose the experience level (Junior, Mid, Senior)
  6. Let our AI generate requirements or add your own custom ones
  7. Save your assessment

Example Assessment

  • Name: Frontend Developer - React
  • Skills: JavaScript, React, CSS, HTML
  • Level: Mid-level
  • Requirements: 5 AI-generated + 2 custom

3. Run Your First Evaluation

Once you have an assessment, you can evaluate candidates' GitHub repositories:

  1. Go to the "Evaluations" section
  2. Click "New Evaluation"
  3. Select the assessment you created
  4. Enter the candidate's GitHub repository URL
  5. Click "Start Evaluation"
  6. Wait for the AI analysis to complete (usually 2-5 minutes)
  7. Review the detailed results and recommendations

4. Understanding Your Results

Evalo provides comprehensive evaluation results including:

  • Overall Score: A percentage score based on all requirements
  • Requirement Analysis: How well each requirement was met
  • Code Quality Metrics: Technical analysis of the codebase
  • AI Recommendations: Intelligent insights and suggestions
  • Skill Level Assessment: Estimated experience level
